Bonn Marathon 2008

The Bonn Marathon (officially Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn since 2011) is a marathon in Bonn that has been held annually in April since 2001. It was initiated by the two sports entrepreneurs Klaus Malorny and Michael Mronz . A half marathon has been part of the program since 2005 . In addition, the marathon distance for hand bikers and inline skaters was offered for several years and in 2008 a route for walkers was offered for the first time .

Route

The running route is a flat circuit that starts on the Belderberg. First it goes over the Kennedy Bridge on the right bank of the Rhine to Beuel and then south to Ramersdorf . After a turn shortly before the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke , it goes back to the Kennedybrücke and again on the left side of the Rhine . Now it goes along the banks of the Rhine upstream to Gronau and on to Hochkreuz , where the turning point is. From there the marathon route runs back through Gronau, the edge of the southern part of the city, and ends in the center on the market square . The half marathon runs the route once, the full marathon runs past the market square and runs the route a second time.
