With a BBA and MBA degrees, Maciek Miereczko returned to Europe after five years and has lived with his family in Erftstadt, Rhineland, since 2007 . In Poland he started for the association LKS Vectra DGS Włocławek.

In Germany, Maciek Miereczko initially started for TV Refrath , later two years for LAZ Puma Troisdorf / Siegburg and from 2011 for the Erftstadt City Run. In 2014 there was a break with the support association of the City Run after Maciek Miereczko joined Rhein-Erft Multisport e. V. wanted to change. Due to a cooperation agreement valid until November 30, 2014, his old club prevented the issuance of the starting pass and thus the right to start at official championships by means of a temporary injunction. Maciek Miereczko won the Ruhr Marathon in May 2014, but not the West German marathon championships integrated into this event. The club change finally took place on January 1, 2015, after Rhein-Erft Multisport e. V. had meanwhile joined the VFB Erftstadt as a department.

At the Polish marathon championships in 2009 in Dębno Maciek Miereczko reached third place in 2:17:01 h. With this performance and with his half marathon time of 1:04:59 h in Venlo (NLD) he took second place in the German best list 2009. In the following years he was regularly among the top 10 in the German best list. At the German championships in the 2011 half marathon in Griesheim , he finished fifth with 1:05:39 h.

At the Kassel Marathon 2017 he benefited from the disqualification of the five African athletes in front of him, who had been misdirected by the lead vehicle at kilometer 19, and thus ensured the first non-African victory since the first run in 2007. In October 2017, he was surprisingly nationwide hit the headlines.

Maciek Miereczko has had German citizenship since the beginning of 2017, is married and has three daughters.
