Dębno marathon

The Dębno Marathon ( Polish Maraton Dębno ) is a marathon in the West Pomeranian city of Dębno (Neudamm), which has been taking place since 1966, since 1969 over the 42.195 km distance. The organizer is the Dębno Sports and Recreation Center (Ośrodek Sportu I Rekreacji w Dębnie) .

history

The first two events ran over a distance of 21.5 km, the third over 26.5 km. All three races were won by Zdzisław Bogusz .

After the Polish marathon championship had already been integrated into the run in 1971 , it was organized from 1973 to 1990 as part of the Dębno marathon, and from 1982 also for women.

The event paused from 1991 to 1998. From 2001 Dębno has been the venue for the Polish championships again.

The 37th edition, scheduled for April 11, 2010, was canceled the day before due to mourning for the victims of the plane crash near Smolensk and moved to October 24, 2010.

route

The course consists of three rounds with start and finish in Dębno and runs counterclockwise through the districts of Dargomyśl (Darrmietzel) and Cychry (Zicher). The route measured in accordance with the regulations of the Polish Athletics Association PZLA is flat, paved throughout and 80 percent runs through the forest.
