Christina Mai ( Christina Angela "Tina" Mai ; born September 3, 1961 in Dortmund ) is a former German long-distance runner .

In 1983 she was fifth in the German Marathon Championships . She was German runner-up in 1984 over 10,000 meters and 1985 over 3000 meters . In 1986 she came in 47th place at the World Cross Country Championships in Colombier and was third in the Paderborn Easter run over 25 kilometers. The following year she was at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1987 in Liévin fifth over 3000 meters, finished 58th at the World Cross Country Championships in Warsaw and was German champion in 25 km road running .

In 1989 she won the Paderborn Easter run on the 10 km course. In 1991 she became German champion in long-distance cross-country skiing . At the indoor world championships in Seville she was disqualified over 3000 meters, and in 1992 she was German indoor runner-up in the 3000 meter and sixth at the European Indoor Championships in Genoa .

In 1993 she won the German Indoor Championships over 3000 meters and was fourth over the same distance at the Indoor World Championships in Toronto and second in the free German Championships. In the following year she defended her indoor title over 3000 meters, was German cross-country champion on the short distance and fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Paris .

In 1995 she won the Kassel City Run , in 1996 she was twelfth in the Berlin Marathon , in 1997 she was third in the Hanover Marathon and won the Hamburg Half Marathon . At the half marathon world championships in Košice she did not reach the goal, at the Frankfurt marathon she was sixth.

At the end of her competitive sports career, she won the Regensburg Marathon in 1998 and was sixth overall in the Frankfurt Marathon in the German championships.

Christina Mai started for LAV coop Dortmund until 1988 , from 1989 to 1997 for LG Olympia Dortmund and from 1998 for ASV Iserlohn.
