The Kassel City Run was a city run in Kassel that was one of the oldest and best-filled in Germany. It has taken place in May since 1979. The organizer was PSV Grün-Weiß Kassel , and Winfried Aufenanger was the organizer until 2010 .
The program included a run of aces over 10 km for male elite runners, a Ladies Cup over 5 km, a cross-country race over 10 km and three Bambini or student runs.
The runs took place on a circuit that started from Königsplatz and ran over Obere Königsstraße, Opernstraße, Neue Fahrt and Wolfsschlucht.
In 2013 the Kassel City Run was re-launched, but only in the popular sports area. In 2014, only 250 runners started in the various races. Since then, there has been no further city run. The unofficial follow-up event is the Sportscheck night run , which has been held annually since 2014 and has a similar route.
