Caroline Jepchirchir Chepkwony (born April 27, 1985 ) is a Kenyan middle and long distance runner .

Life

In 2001 she was African junior runner-up in 16: 23.77 minutes over 5000 m . At the 2004 African Athletics Championships in Brazzaville, she won bronze over 800 m , at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne she was eliminated over the same distance in the preliminary run.

In the same year she switched to road running , setting a course record at the Corrida Bulloise and winning the Basel City Run and the Course de l'Escalade . In 2007 she triumphed in the Kassel City Run . In 2009 she won the 10 km run of the Regensburg Marathon , the Hamburg Half Marathon and again the Course de l'Escalade.

In 2010, she finished third in Koyang half marathon, she won the Düsseldorf Kö-run , the Alster , the Altoetting half marathon and the half marathon competition of the coast marathon . The following year she defended her title in Altötting.

In 2012 she won the Kerzerslauf , came third in the Berlin half marathon , won the 25 km from Berlin and seventh in the Berlin marathon . In 2013 she was third in the Paris half marathon , second in the Ústí half marathon and triumphed in the Ljubljana marathon .

Caroline Jepchirchir Chepkwony comes from the Marakwet District ( Rift Valley Province ) and is looked after by the German manager Alexander Hempel.
