Ljubljana Marathon 2006

The Ljubljana Marathon ( Slovenian Ljubljanski Maraton ) is a marathon that has been held annually in Ljubljana at the end of October since 1996 . The organizer is the city of Ljubljana. The now two-day program also includes a half marathon and a 10 km run, hand bike, and various school and children's competitions. Particularly spectacular at the marathon is the music stage (with drummers) at the start, which is raised shortly before the start so that the runners can run through below.

The start of the marathon and half marathon was in 2015 in front of the parliament building (Šubičeva ulica) and the finish line in front of the university, the Kongresni trg (congress square). Half marathon course: first went north to the Bežigrad district, then a little to the south, then west to the Šiška, Dravlje, Koseze, again Šiška, further around the Rožnik hill and the Rožna dolina district to the center. In the marathon, the course is supplemented by a south and east loop that runs through Trnovo, Vič, Rakovnik, Moste and Bežigrad.
