Caroline Cheptanui Kilel (born March 21, 1981 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

In 2003 she was eighth at the World Cross Country Championships and second at the Venice Marathon . The following year she finished second in the Prague Marathon , set a course record at the Grand Prix of Prague over 5 km with 15:25 minutes and won the Palermo Marathon. In 2005 she was seventh in the Hamburg Marathon and won the Nairobi Marathon , in 2006 she was third in Prague and second in the Dublin Marathon and in 2007 seventh in the Seoul International Marathon .

After a year and a half break from competition, she finished fourth in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in the fall of 2008 and won the Taipei International Marathon . In 2009 she was third in the 25 km from Berlin , won the Zwitserloot Dak Run and came fourth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Birmingham . As the winner of the Ljubljana Marathon , she improved the course record by over seven minutes and her personal record by almost five minutes.

In 2010 she finished third at the Seoul International Marathon , repeated her victory at the Zwitserloot Dak Run and improved the course record at the Frankfurt Marathon by almost two minutes. The following year she won the Boston Marathon , finished third in the Portugal Half Marathon and sixth in the New York City Marathon . In 2012 she finished second in the Houston Marathon Half Marathon , sixth in the RAK Half Marathon, and won the Taipei International Marathon .

In 2013 she triumphed for the second time in the Frankfurt Marathon.

Caroline Cheptanui Kilel is 1.72 m tall and weighs 54 kg. She is married to her fellow runner Vincent Kipkemboi Cheruiyot .
