The Portugal Half Marathon ( Portuguese Meia Maratona de Portugal ) is a half marathon in Lisbon . As a counterpart to the Lisbon Half Marathon that takes place in spring , it has been held in autumn since 2000 and is now just as important as its sister run.
The start is on the Ponte Vasco da Gama , on which the first six kilometers towards Lisbon are covered. After a turning point to the north on the IC2 expressway leading through the city of Sacavém , it goes south through Moscavide into the city of Lisbon, where the last 6 km run through the Parque das Nações (site of the Expo 98 ). The goal is in front of the Pavilhão de Portugal.
