Felix Limo (born August 22, 1980 ) is a former Kenyan long-distance runner and world record holder in road running over 15 km.

Career

In 2000 he surprised the world of runners when he was just barely beaten by Paul Tergat in a 10,000 meter run in Brussels with a time of 27: 04.54 minutes . On November 11, 2001, he set the then world record in the 15 km road race at a race in Nijmegen with 41:29 minutes.

In 2003 he finished second in the Amsterdam Marathon in 2:06:42 h. The following year he won the Rotterdam Marathon in 2:06:14 hours. This time, which was achieved despite strong gusts of wind, was the world's best for the year in 2004 and was broken as the course record in 2008 by William Kipsang . At this time, Limo took eleventh place in the all-time world best list (as of April 15, 2008). In autumn he won the Berlin Marathon in 2:06:44 h.

In 2005 he finished third in the Rotterdam Marathon and won the Chicago Marathon in 2:07:02. In 2006 he won the London Marathon in 2:06:39 h, in 2007 he was beaten in third place in 2:07:47 h by Martin Kiptoo Lel , who he had two seconds ahead of last year, and Abderrahim Goumri . At the beginning of 2013 he ended his sports career.
