The Valencia Marathon ( Spanish Maratón de Valencia ) is a marathon that has been held annually in Valencia since March 29, 1981 and is one of the oldest and most popular in Spain . It was held in February until 2010; for climatic reasons, the date was moved to November from 2011. Since this postponement, the number of participants has increased significantly. The marathon has had the IAAF gold label since 2016. The run is organized by the Sociedad Deportiva Correcaminos . At the same time as the marathon, a 10 km run is started.

route

The start and finish are in the Ciudad de las Artes y de las Ciencias . From the start the route leads to the marina and along the coast. Then it goes inland towards the city center. Every year a wooden walkway is built over the pond next to the Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe for the last 100 meters to the finish. The course is very flat.
