20 km from Paris

The 20 km from Paris ( French 20 Kilomètres de Paris ) are a people and street run that has been taking place in Paris since 1979 . It has been organized by the Association Sportive et Culturelle de l'Air (Ascair) since 2002 .

In 1979 the advertised route length was 20.3 km. In the 1980s and early 1990s there are said to have been repeated early starts, which is why the times from this period are not considered to be suitable for records. In 1997, the course length was determined to be 19.83 km during a follow-up measurement.

route

The start is on the right bank of the Seine at the Pont d'Iéna . Through the eastern part of the Jardins du Trocadéro you go to the Place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-Novembre , where you turn into Avenue Raymond Poincaré . After 2 km you will come to avenue Foch , which you follow west to Porte Dauphine . This is followed by a lap through the Bois de Boulogne , which you leave shortly before km 10 at the Porte d'Auteuil . You return to the Seine via Boulevard Exelmans and follow its right bank upstream. At km 14 you pass the starting area, at km 15 the Pont de l'Alma and at km 16 the Place de la Concorde . After another kilometer, change to the left bank of the Seine via the Pont Royal . The last three kilometers lead downriver to the destination on the Quai Branly between Pont d'Iéna and the Eiffel Tower .
