Paul Arpin

Paul Arpin (born February 20, 1960 in Bourg-Saint-Maurice ) is a former French long-distance runner .

In 1987 he won bronze at the World Cross Country Championships in Warsaw and took 13th place at the World Athletics Championships in Rome over 10,000 m .

The following year he was eleventh at the World Cross Country Championships in Auckland and won bronze with the team. At the Olympic Games in Seoul he was seventh over 10,000 m and came 14th over 5000 m . At the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, he ran over 10,000 m in 17th place.

In the 1990s he switched to road running . In 1992 he won the 20 km from Paris . At the World Half Marathon Championships he came in 1994 in Oslo in 27th place and in 1996 in Palma in 21st place. In 1996 he was fifth in the Reims Marathon and in 1997 third in the Bordeaux Marathon.

He was three times national champion over 5000 m (1986-1988), once over 10,000 m (1990) and three times in cross country (1987-1989).
