Kenneth Cheruiyot

Kenneth Cheruiyot (born August 2, 1974 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who had his greatest successes in marathons and half marathons .

In 1997 he set a world record over this distance in the 25 km of Berlin with 1:13:58 h and came third in the half marathon world championships . In 1998 and 2001 he won the Grand Prix of Bern .

In 1999 he won the Monaco Marathon in a time of 2:11:26 h, which was a course record until 2009. However, he was best known for his appearances at the Rotterdam Marathon . In 2000 he won in 2:08:22 h, in 2001 he finished second in his personal best of 2:07:18 h and in 2002 he was also second, even though he fell badly at 10 km and broke his arm.

Kenneth Cheruiyot is married to Nancy Jebet Langat , 2008 Olympic champion over 1500 meters .
