Maria Rebelo

Maria Rebelo (divorced Lelut ; born January 29, 1956 in Ilhavo , Portugal ) is a former French long-distance runner .

She took part in the Cross Country World Championships ten times with the following placements:

In 1987 and 1989 she won silver with the French team.

In 1981 she was third in the French marathon championships , and in 1984 she won the premiere of the Le Lion half marathon .

In 1985 she came in 49th place in the IAAF World Cup marathon and was eighth in the Chicago marathon . The following year, after another victory at Le Lion, she triumphed in the Paris Marathon , finished ninth in the marathon of the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart , won the 20 km in Paris and came second in Chicago. In 1987 she finished second in the IAAF World Cup marathon. She gave up at the World Athletics Championships marathon in Rome and finished sixth at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon .

In 1988 she was sixth in the European Cup marathon , ran at the marathon of the Olympic Games in Seoul in 18th place and was third in Tokyo. In 1989 she achieved her third win at Le Lion. A fourth place in Chicago was followed by a 14th place in the London Marathon in 1990 .

In summer she won bronze at the EM marathon in Split , in autumn she became French marathon champion. In 1991 she was fifth in the World Cup marathon held in the Rahmane of the London Marathon and fifth in the marathon of the World Cup in Tokyo .

In 1992 she finished fourth in the Lisbon Half Marathon . In the marathon of the Olympic Games in Barcelona , she did not reach the goal. At the World Half Marathon Championships in South Shields she finished 60th, at the New York City Marathon she was tenth.

The following year she won the Paris Half Marathon and was French champion as the overall runner-up in the Paris Marathon. She finished twelfth at the World Championships in Stuttgart and at the World Cup marathon. In 1994 she defended her national championship title in Paris as the overall tenth. At the premiere of the European Cross Country Championships in Alnwick , she was fifth and won silver with the team.

In 1995 she was ninth in the last World Cup marathon.

She was French champion three times in the marathon (1990, 1993, 1994) and once each over 10,000 m (1985), in the 25 km road run (1985), in the half marathon (1992) and in the cross country run (1994).
