IAAF World Cup marathon
The World Marathon Cup (IAAF World Marathon Cup) was one of the IAAF oriented Marathon , which took place from 1985 to 1995 in odd years as an individual and a team competition and then the part to 2011 World Athletics Championships was.
history
The most successful German athlete was Katrin Dörre , who won gold in 1985 and bronze in 1987 and bronze with the GDR team in 1985 (together with Birgit Weinhold in 19th place and Gabriele Martins in 22nd) and silver in 1987 (together with Uta Pippig in 8th and Annette Fincke in 11th place). In 1989 Uta Pippig won bronze in the individual competition.
In 1997 the cup was integrated into the marathon of the World Athletics Championships and held as a team competition. In 2012 the IAAF decided not to hold the Cup any more.
