Anuța Cătună

Anuța Cătună (born October 1, 1968 in Lunca Ilvei , Bistrița-Năsăud district ) is a Romanian long-distance runner .

Life

Her first major successes were victories at the Leipzig Marathon in 1991 and at the La Rochelle Marathon in 1993.

In 1994 she finished second in the Marrakech marathon and fifth in the marathon of the European Athletics Championships in 1994 . This was followed by a third place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Oslo and a fourth place at the New York City Marathon .

In the next two years she celebrated her greatest triumphs when she came second in the Lisbon Half Marathon , won the last edition of the IAAF World Cup marathon , at the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 on a 400 m short distance in 2: Won the silver medal at 26:25 h, won bronze again at the World Half Marathon Championships in Belfort , and a year later won the New York City Marathon in 2:28:18 h.

At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 she was eleventh and fourth at the New York Marathon. In 1998 she finished third in the Boston Marathon and fourth in 2000.

In 2003 she finished third in the Twin Cities Marathon , in 2004 she finished second in the Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon , winner in the Country Music Marathon and fifth in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon .
