Rock 'n' Roll marathon

The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is a marathon in San Diego ( California ), which takes place since 1998th It has been organized by the Competitor Group since 2008 , which bought the previous organizer Elite Racing .

The hallmarks of the run are the numerous rock bands that play along the route and the concert by an internationally renowned band on the evening after the race, to which the runners have free entry. Huey Lewis and the News performed for the premiere in 1998, and Seal was the star of the evening for the tenth anniversary in 2007 .

A half marathon has been part of the program since 2010 .

route

The course begins at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Palm Street near Balboa Park and has ended at the SeaWorld San Diego branch since 2010 . Until 2009 the destination was the Marine Corps Depot at Point Loma . Due to a net gradient of 76 m, the times achieved are not on the best list.
