Association of German Commercial Aviation Schools

The Verband Deutscher Verkehrsfliegerschulen eV (VDV) , based in Freiburg im Breisgau, is an association of flight schools in Germany (VDV) that, in accordance with the applicable European guidelines for the licensing of flight personnel JAR-FCL, provides training to become private pilots ( PPL ), commercial pilots ( CPL ) and commercial pilots ( ATPL ).

aims

The aim of the association is to ensure standardized, highly qualified cockpit training in Germany for European aviation . The association's tasks include representing the interests of its members in relation to politics and the authorities, exchanging experiences between training companies and developing measures to optimize and secure the quality of training for pilots in Germany.

organization

The association was founded in 1992 by Rolf Buyer, Günter Kotzor and Hans-Peter Zeltner, when initially nine commercial aviation schools were organized in the association. Currently (2015) there are 15 member schools. The association board consists of the chairman Udo Harter and the deputy chairwoman Belinda Stöber.
