Tokyo International Women's Marathon

The Tokyo International Women's Marathon ( Japanese 東京 国際 女子 マ ラ ソ ン Tōkyō Kokusai Joshi Marason ) was a marathon elite race for women that took place in Tokyo from 1979 to 2008 in November .

After the 30th edition, the competition in its previous form was discontinued because the Tokyo Marathon , which has been taking place since 2007, has been open to runners of both sexes and the effort for two annual city marathons in Tokyo had become too great. The event will be replaced by an elite marathon for women in Yokohama , the first edition of which was scheduled for November 15, 2009.
