Lyubov Klotschko

Lyubov Klotschko ( Ukrainian Любов Клочко , English transcription Lyubov Klochko ; born September 26, 1959 ) is a former Ukrainian marathon runner .

Initially starting for the Soviet Union , she won the premiere of the Bila Zerkva Marathon in 1987 . On the approx. 300 m short course, she achieved a time of 2:25:25 h. The following year she won the Calvià Marathon , and in 1989 she was Soviet champion in Bila Tserkwa with her personal best of 2:28:47 and won the Tokyo International Women's Marathon .

In 1990 she came 13th in the London Marathon . At the European Athletics Championships in Split , she did not reach the goal.

In 1991 she was sixth in the Berlin Marathon and third in Tokyo. The following year she won the Cleveland Marathon , came second in the Siberian International Marathon , fourth in Berlin and won again in Calvià. In 1993 she won the Los Angeles Marathon , defended her title in Cleveland and finished second in the Hokkaidō Marathon . In 1994, the third win in a row in Cleveland was followed by an early exit at the European Championships in Helsinki , where she now started for the Ukraine.

A third place in Los Angeles in 1995 was followed by another victory there in 1996 and a third place in Cleveland. She gave up at the Olympics in Atlanta .

In 1997 she finished second in Cleveland and won the Detroit Marathon and Columbus Marathon.
