Course Féminine de Casablanca
The Course Féminine de Casablanca is a running event in Casablanca that is only open to women. It has been organized by the 400-meter hurdles Olympic champion and current Minister of Sports, Nawal El Moutawakel , since it was first held in 1993 . With now well over 20,000 participants, the city run is one of the largest women's sporting events in the world, but also one of the fastest road runs over 10 km.
In 1993, 1381 runners took part in the first event, which at that time was still over 5 km. A year later there were already 5000. After a break of seven years, the race was restarted in 2001, now over the distance of 10 km and with a rapidly increasing response.
