The Yokohama Marathon ( Japanese 横 浜 国際 女子 マ ラ ソ ン , Yokohama Kokusai Joshi Marason, German “International Women's Marathon Yokohama”, English Yokohama Women's Marathon ) was a marathon for the female running elite that took place in Yokohama since 2009 . He took the place of the Tokyo International Women's Marathon on the Japanese racing calendar , which was held from 1979 to 2008.

The organizers were the Japanese Athletics Federation, Asahi Shinbun, and Nippon Television Network Corporation .

Like the Tokyo Marathon, the first event took place in November; the second event was postponed to February 20, 2011 due to security concerns about a concurrent APEC conference. It was held for the last time in 2014.

The start was at Yamashita Park at the height of the Marine Tower . A small loop through Chinatown was followed by a large one, which led north through Minato Mirai 21 to Yokohama station and then south past Kannai station through Motomachi and Yamate and was traversed three times. The destination was in Yamashita Park.
