Ryōko Kizaki ( Japanese 木 﨑 良 子 , Kizaki Ryōko ; born June 21, 1985 in Yosano , Kyōto Prefecture ) is a Japanese long-distance runner .

Life

In 2005 she finished third in the Matsue half marathon and won silver in the half marathon at the Universiade . The following year she was third in the Kyoto Half Marathon and second in the 10 km of San'yō. At the Road Running World Championships in Debrecen in 2006 , she finished 19th and won bronze with the Japanese team. In 2007 she won the Kyoto half marathon and won a silver medal over 10,000 m at the Universiade . A third place in the Kyoto half marathon in 2008 was followed by a seventh place in the Japanese half marathon championship in 2009, a fourth in the Sapporo half marathon and 13th place in the World Half Marathon Championships in Birmingham .

In 2010, she finished sixth in her debut over the 42.195-km distance in the Osaka Women's Marathon . At the Half Marathon World Championships in Nanning , she was tenth and won bronze with the Japanese team. In 2011, after finishing fifth in Osaka, she won the Yokohama Marathon in the fall . In March 2012 she was nominated for the Olympic Games in London .

Ryōko Kizaki studied at Bukkyō University and joined the Daihatsu company team in 2008 .
