The 16th IAAF World Half Marathon Championships (officially: 16th IAAF World Half Marathon Championships 2009 - Birmingham ) were on 11 October 2009 in the British city of Birmingham just before the Birmingham Half Marathon held.

Prize money

The IAAF provided a total of US $ 245,000 in prize money. This amount was divided among the first six places in the individual and team rankings.
