Silwija Skworzowa

Silwija Skworzowa ( Russian Сильвия Скворцова , English transcription Silviya Skvortsova ; born November 16, 1974 ) is a Russian long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

Her first international appearance was at the 1997 World Half Marathon Championships in Košice, where she finished 22nd.

At the World Half Marathon Championships in Vilamoura in 2000 , she came in 30th place and in 2001 she was fifth in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and fifth in the Twin Cities Marathon . The following year she was seventh at the London Marathon and finished 23rd at the World Half Marathon Championships in Brussels .

In 2003 she won the Austin Marathon and was sixth in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, in 2004 she was seventh in the Los Angeles Marathon and second in the Twin Cities Marathon.

In 2005 a victory in the Rome Marathon was followed by a third place in the Singapore Marathon . In 2006 she finished second in the Nagano Marathon , won the San José Half Marathon and finished eleventh in the New York City Marathon .

In 2007 she won the Las Vegas Marathon , in 2008 she was eleventh in London and second in the Twin Cities Marathon and in Singapore. The following season she was third in Los Angeles, second at the Berlin Marathon and tenth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Birmingham .

In 2010, after a third place in Los Angeles, she was eleventh in the marathon of the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona .
