Tilahun Regassa (born January 18, 1990 in Dukem ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

He grew up with his father in Nazret after his parents divorced when he was three years old. After the death of his father, Regassa was fifteen years old and spent three years on the streets. Eventually he was discovered by the athletics manager Hussein Makke and accepted into his training group.

Regassa achieved a world class time of 59:36 minutes in his first half marathon race in Lille in September 2008 . Two months later, he finished fourth in the Delhi Half Marathon . In 2009 he won the Bolder Boulder and the Falmouth Road Race, among others . At the Half Marathon World Championships in Birmingham , he finished eleventh in the individual standings and won a bronze medal in the team standings. At the Delhi Half Marathon he was again fourth. He also won the Great Ethiopian Run over 10 km in a track record time of 28:36 minutes.

The 2010 season began for Regassa with a win at the Zayed International Half Marathon in Abu Dhabi, which earned him a prize of US $ 300,000 . With his winning time of 59:19 minutes, he set a personal best and a course record.
