Great Ethiopian Run
The Great Ethiopian Run is a people and street run in Addis Ababa that has been taking place since 2001. The race, initiated by Nova International as part of the Great Run series , is currently organized by the NGO Great Ethiopian Run , chaired by Haile Gebrselassie , and is the largest running event in Ethiopia with more than 30,000 participants .
Due to the location of Addis Ababa at an altitude of 2355 m , the times on the 10 km distance are not quite as fast as those achieved by the participating athletes on lower courses.
