Aberu Kebede (born September 12, 1989 in Shewa ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

Her first big success was winning the Stramilano half marathon in 2009. Shortly thereafter, she became Ethiopian champion over 10,000 m .

In autumn, she won bronze at the Half Marathon World Championships in Birmingham in 1:07:39 h, just one second behind Philes Moora Ongori , who was second , and silver in the team standings. She came third in the Delhi Half Marathon .

In 2010, on her debut over the 42.195 km distance, she was second in the Dubai Marathon in 2:24:26 h. In the same year, Kebede won the Rotterdam marathon in 2:25:29 h and the Berlin marathon in 2:23:58 h. In 2012 Kebede was able to repeat her victory at the Berlin Marathon. She ran a personal best in 2:20:30 h.

In 2013 she won the Tokyo Marathon in 2:25:34 hours. On October 26, 2014, she won the Frankfurt Marathon in 2:22:21 h. Two years later she was successful again in Berlin with a time of 2:20:45 hours.
