Dora von Bodenhausen
Dora von Bodenhausen , also Dora von Bodenhausen-Degener, was born Countess Dorothea Elisabeth Eva Marie von Degenfeld-Schonburg (born April 3, 1877 ; † 1969 in Ascona ) was the wife of the art historian Eberhard von Bodenhausen and the mother of the actress Luli von Bodenhausen . She was known and friends with numerous artists, poets and patrons of her time, including Harry Graf Kessler and Hugo von Hofmannsthal .
In 1959 she published an edition with diary entries and letters from her husband under the title “Eberhard von Bodenhausen: A Life for Art and Economy”. This book contains, among other things, excerpts from the correspondence of Bodenhausen with Henry van de Velde , Rudolf Alexander Schröder , Rudolf Borchardt and other important personalities of the art and cultural life at the beginning of the 20th century.
