Koren Jelela
Koren Jelela ( Koren Jelela Yal ; born January 18, 1987 in Shewa ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner .
At the Cross Country World Championships in 2007 in Mombasa she came in 19th place, in Edinburgh in 2008 in 14th and in 2009 in Amman in 30th place.
In 2009 she finished second in the Venice Marathon on her debut over the 42.195 km distance and then won the Great Ethiopian Run . The following year, she finished ninth in the RAK Half Marathon , twelfth in the Boston Marathon and fourth in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon .
In 2011 she set a course record in the Mumbai Marathon with 2:26:56 h. A third place in the Paris Marathon was followed by a victory in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
