Hussam Badrawi

Hussam Badrawi ( Arabic حسام بدراوي, DMG Ḥussām Badrāwī ) is an Egyptian professor, former member of parliament and was General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Party from February 5 to February 11, 2011 . Badrawi is a member of the Egyptian House of Lords and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina .

After studying medicine at the University of Cairo , which he graduated in 1974, Badrawi stayed on for postgraduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit , Michigan in the United States . He has also taught at Northwestern University in Chicago and Boston University in Massachusetts . His specialties as a doctor are gynecology and obstetrics .
