Netsanet Gudeta Kebede ( Amharic ነፃነት ጉደታ ; born February 12, 1991 in Arsi ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

Career

Netsanet Gudeta Kebede grew up in Bekoji . In 2013 she won the Great Ethiopian Run (10 km).

In 2015 she won the bronze medal at the World Cross Country Championships and the gold medal in the team.

At the 2016 Half Marathon World Championships , she finished fourth in 1:08:01 h as the best Ethiopian behind the Kenyan Peres Jepchirchir (1:07:31 h).

In 2017 she won the 10 km road run (MDS Nordion 10k) at the Ottawa Marathon in 31:35 minutes .

At the 2018 Half Marathon World Championships in Valencia in March , she won in 1:06:11 h, a world record for an all-women race. In July she won the Bogotá half marathon .

At the half marathon in Ras Al Khaimah in February 2019, she finished second in a personal best after 65:45 minutes, at the same time as the winner Senbere Teferi .
In May she won the Ethiopian Athletics Championships over 10,000 m in Addis Ababa in 32: 17.82 minutes. At the 2019 World Athletics Championships , the 28-year-old started again over 10,000 m in Doha in mid-September , but could not finish the race.
