Abebech Afework
Abebech Afework (born December 11, 1990 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .
In 2009 she was third in the Udine half marathon and won the Arezzo half marathon.
The following year she came in 18th place at the 2010 World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz. At the Zwolle Half Marathon she was second, and at the Half Marathon World Championships in Nanning she finished 14th. In her debut over the 42.195 km distance, she finished third in the Pune Marathon .
In 2011 she won the Egmond half marathon and the half marathon of the Paderborn Easter run . In autumn she came third at the Dam tot Damloop and won the Route du Vin , the Great Ethiopian Run and the Montferland Run .
In 2012 she finished second in the Bogotá half marathon and tenth in the Lille half marathon .
She started the 2013 season with eighth place in the Dubai Marathon . She came second in the Rotterdam Marathon , fourth in the Luanda Half Marathon and eighth in the Chicago Marathon .
In 2014 she won the Houston Marathon and the Rotterdam Marathon and was fifth in the Berlin Marathon . In 2015 she finished ninth in Dubai.
