Albina Gennadjewna Majorowa
Albina Gennadjewna Majorowa ( Russian Альбина Геннадьевна Майорова , English transcription Albina Mayorova , née Иванова , Iwanowa - Ivanova ; born May 16, 1977 in Erenary, Chuvash ASSR ) is a Russian marathon runner .
In 2001 she was third in the Moscow Marathon and second in the Siberian International Marathon . In 2002 she won the Dubai Marathon and the Siberian International Marathon, came second in the Columbus Marathon and the Honolulu Marathon and seventh in the Turin Marathon . In 2003 she was sixth in the Boston Marathon , won the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, was fourth in the Chicago Marathon and third in Honolulu. In 2004 she qualified fourth in the London Marathon for the Olympic Games in Athens , where she came in 40th. Later that season she finished fifth in Chicago and third in Honolulu; she also won the Bay to Breakers .
In 2005 she won the Nagano Marathon , won the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon for the third time in a row , finished eleventh in Chicago and seventh in the Las Vegas Marathon . The following year she defended her title in Nagano, came in 23rd in the marathon of the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 and was fifth in Honolulu.
After getting married and having a baby break, she made a comeback in 2009. A seventh place in the Rome Marathon and a fourth in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon was followed by a victory in the Singapore Marathon at the end of the year . In 2010 she was tenth in the Boston Marathon , Russian runner-up in the half marathon and seventh in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon , in 2011 sixth in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and fifth in the Istanbul Marathon .
In 2012, she prevailed against a top-class field of local runners in the Nagoya Marathon .
