Morhad Amdouni (born January 21, 1988 in Porto-Vecchio ) is a French athlete of Tunisian origin who specializes in medium and long-distance runs . His greatest sporting success to date is the win at the European Championships 2018 in Berlin over the 10,000 meter distance .

Athletic career

Amdouni has been taking part in competitions on an international level since 2006. At the European Cross Country Championships in 2006 , he finished tenth in the individual juniors and was third in the team ranking with the French team. At the Junior World Championships in Beijing in 2006 , he was eliminated in tenth in the semifinals.

In 2007 he won the 5000 meter run at the European Junior Championships in Hengelo, the Netherlands, with a time of 14: 08.27 minutes. Two years later he also competed over 5000 meters at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin . With a time of 13: 29.64 min, he finished eighth. A year later he finished fifth in the individual at the 2010 European Cross Country Championships in Albufeira and won gold in the team classification together with the French team.

After years of relatively little competition, he took part in the 1500-meter run at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. After surviving the preliminary run, he later retired in the semi-finals in ninth place in a time of 3: 37; 79 minutes. In 2016 Amdouni took part in the European Championships in Amsterdam. Over the 1500 meter distance, he did not get beyond 13th place; over 10,000 meters he was fifth. 2017 he exhibited in Birmingham at the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix Müller in a time of 13: 11.18 min French a new indoor record on.

2018 is his most successful sporting year so far.
