European Cross Country Championships 2010

The 17th European Cross Country Championships the EAA took place on 12. December 2010 in Albufeira ( Portugal instead).

The course in the holiday resort Aldeia das Açoteias consisted of a 1600 m long loop and a smaller 500 m long loop, which was built into the course of all races except for the men in order to achieve the distances prescribed in the regulations. In addition, there was 270 m between start and finish. The men completed six large laps (9.87 km), the women and U23 men four large and three small laps (8.17 km), the U23 women and the juniors three large and two small laps (6.07 km) ) and the juniors two large and one small lap (3.970 km).

The defending champion Alemayehu Bezabeh was not at the start because he had been excluded from the Spanish team after the arrest of his coach Manuel Pascua in the Fuentes doping scandal .
