European Cross Country Championships 2004
The 11th European Cross Country Championships of the EAA took place on December 12, 2004 in Heringsdorf ( Germany ).
A 1500 m long loop was set up south of the Schloonsees lake in the island of Usedom , which could be shortened to 1,000 m. There was also a start area of 80 m and a finish straight of 60 m. The men completed five large and two small laps (9.64 km), the women and juniors three large and one small laps (5.64 km) and the juniors one large and two small laps (3.64 km).
In the women's category, France was retrospectively awarded the bronze medal for the team that originally went to Germany after video recordings showed that Fatiha Klilech-Fauvel came in 30th instead of 31st. When there was a tie between the two teams, the better placement of the fourth-best runner decided.
