Alexander Lubina (born December 10, 1979 in Bottrop ) is a former German athlete and orienteer . One of his greatest successes was participating in the 2002 European Championships over 10,000 meters .

After Lubina was mainly active on the track over 5000 and 10,000 meters , he tried in 2007 on the marathon distance . His debut failed immediately. At the German Championships in Mainz , he had to get out. On July 8th 2007 he achieved a time of 2:21:27 h in Bruges . Twelve weeks later, he started the Berlin Marathon . For this he had made the qualification for the Olympic Games in 2008 . His training colleague Jan Fitschen had set the pace up to halfway through . Up to kilometer 30 he was still in the Olympic target. But then he slowed down significantly and finally had to get off, as in Mainz.

In 2008 Alexander Lubina was German champion in the long distance H21 Elite in orienteering .

Lubina from Bottrop started for TV Wattenscheid and in orienteering for DJK Adler 07 Bottrop. His trainer is Tono Kirschbaum .
