Oliver Mintzlaff

Oliver Mintzlaff (born August 19, 1975 in Bonn ) is a German business and sports manager as well as a former long-distance runner .

From 2000 to 2008 he worked for Puma , also as a player consultant and manager of clients. He has been working for Red Bull GmbH 's football activities since 2014 , initially worldwide, and since RB Leipzig's promotion to the Bundesliga only for this club. Also in 2014, Mintzlaff was appointed CEO of RB Leipzig e. V. determined, in 2016 in addition to the managing director of the outsourced RB Leipzig GmbH , which is majority owned by Red Bull.

Career

Oliver Mintzlaff grew up in Königswinter and was involved in sport as a long-distance runner. He took part twice in the World Half Marathon Championships: in 1998 in Uster he came in 70th, in 1999 in Palermo 80th. As a cross-country specialist, he was then six times in the German squad at the European cross-country championships, with the following placements:

In 1999 he was fifth in the German half marathon championships and in 2001 eighth in the German championships in 10 km road running . At the German championships in the 10,000-meter run , he was ninth in 2000 and fourth in 2002. In 2005 he won the 10 km competition of the coastal marathon and was German runner-up in cross-country skiing .

Mintzlaff started for SSF Bonn , ASV St. Augustin, Eintracht Frankfurt , LG Bonn- Troisdorf - Niederkassel and PTSV Jahn Freiburg. After studying business administration - including in the USA - he worked for the sporting goods manufacturer Puma from 2000 to 2008 ; most recently as responsible for sports marketing. He then worked as managing director for Ferber Marketing , advising football players and as a manager supervising the coach Ralf Rangnick , the long-distance runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt and the pop singer Andrea Berg .

Soccer

From 2014 to 2017, Mintzlaff was "Head of Global Soccer" at Red Bull GmbH, and was responsible for all of the Group's soccer activities. On June 12, 2014 he was elected chairman of the board at the general meeting of RasenBallsport Leipzig eV . Since January 1st, 2016 he has been the sole managing director of RasenBallsport Leipzig GmbH. After several promotions, RB Leipzig has played in the 1st Bundesliga since the 2016/17 season.
