List of stumbling blocks in Ludwigsburg
The list of stumbling blocks in Ludwigsburg includes all 82 stumbling blocks that were laid in Ludwigsburg on a total of eleven dates as part of the project by the artist Gunter Demnig . The first Ludwigsburg stumbling blocks were set on September 27, 2008, the last so far on July 8, 2020.
The Ludwigsburg Stolperstein Initiative was formed in autumn 2007 at the suggestion of journalist and filmmaker Jochen Faber after his research on the documentary The Secret of the Orange Boxes . In the first few years the initiative dealt primarily with Ludwigsburg's Jewish faith and communists, later victims of the T4 campaign were added. In the meantime, research is being carried out on all victim groups, most recently on people from social lower classes who were described as “inferior” (“ ballast existences ”) who, according to the Nazi regime, belonged to social fringe groups or who had severe deficits in performance and adjustment .
Stumbling blocks in Ludwigsburg
Summarized addresses of laying locations indicate that several stumbling blocks were laid in one location. The table is partially sortable; the basic sorting takes place alphabetically according to the place of installation. The Person, Inscription column is sorted alphabetically by the person's name.

July 8, 2020 | Ida Möhler was born on October 17, 1887 in Dörzbach ( Oberamt Künzelsau ) as the daughter of the master bookbinder Fridolin Rettich. In April 1912 she married the post office assistant Johann Möhler, with whom she had four children. The family lived in Möckmühl . Two years after the death of her husband (1927) Ida Möhler moved to Ludwigsburg and lived there with her sister Hedwig Meyer at Beihinger Straße 29 (today house number 9). The residents' register of the city of Ludwigsburg shows that she was the owner of the house at the time.
In August 1931, Ida Möhler was admitted to the Weinsberg sanatorium for the mentally ill for the first time after the following was noted in the medical records of a Ludwigsburg doctor: “... not quite correct for two years. Suicide attempt two years ago due to melancholy . That's why in the Ludwigsburg hospital. Since then she has been mostly melancholy, often scolds, quarrelsome, paranoia and relationship mania. ”Almost six years later, on February 25, 1937, she was released, but on March 8, 1937 she was back at the Weinsberg clinic. In the files there on Ida Möhler there is one last entry: “Resigned on May 8, 1940 - where to? To another institution. ”Today it is known that Ida Möhler was taken to the Grafeneck killing center on May 8, 1940 as part of the T4 euthanasia campaign and gassed there on the same day. The registry office in Grafeneck tried to cover up the murder, dated her death on May 23rd and gave "acute brain swelling" as the cause of death. |
