List of stumbling blocks in Kernen in the Remstal

The list of Stolpersteine ​​in Kernen im Remstal contains stumbling stones that were laid by Gunter Demnig in Kernen im Remstal as part of the art project of the same name . They are intended to commemorate the victims of National Socialism who lived and worked in kernels.

In the sanatorium in Stetten alone, 330 people were deported to Grafeneck in 1940. A memorial stone was laid in the Stetten district on October 7, 2010 for two of the prison's victims and one other victim.

Stumbling block beurer.jpg Ernst Friedrich Beurer was born in Stetten in 1900. He came from a local vineyard family. As a child he developed an illness which caused a disability. On November 2, 1931, Ernst Friedrich Beurer was admitted to the Stetten sanatorium. In September 1940 he was deported to Grafeneck and murdered on the day of his arrival. The grave, which was supposed to be in the Prague cemetery , was never found.

Stumbling block link.jpg Oswald Link was born in Vöhringen near Rottweil in 1892 . After the wedding he lived with his wife in Stetten. Link driver was at the medical service in the First World War . Caused by a gas attack, he suffered from serious stomach problems for a long time. When he returned from the medical officer in Stuttgart, he was taken to the Aistaig-Oberndorf labor education camp by the SS or Gestapo and killed there.

Stolperstein schmid.jpg Marta Schmid was born on July 6, 1919. She comes from an old vineyard family in Stetten. Because she suffered from severe epileptic seizures as a child, she was taken to the Stetten asylum on March 10, 1924. On November 5, 1940, she was deported to Grafeneck on the 4th Stetten transport, where she was murdered on the same day.
