Justyna Bąk

Justyna Bąk (born August 1, 1974 ) is a former Polish long-distance , obstacle and medium-distance runner .

At the World Cross Country Championships she finished 26th in 1999 in Belfast and 68th in Vilamoura in 2000 .

In 2001, on July 9th in Nice , she set a world record of 9: 25.31 minutes over 3000 m obstacle and won bronze at the European Cross Country Championships in Thun . On June 5, 2002 in Milan she improved the world record over 3000 m obstacle to 9: 22.29 min.

At the European Cross Country Championship 2003 in Edinburgh, she was seventh. In 2004 she took 29th place on the short distance at the cross-country championships in Brussels and 36th place on the long-distance run. She won silver at the European cross-country championships in Heringsdorf .

In 2006 she came in 32nd place at the road running world championships in Debrecen over 20 km and was fifth in the Venice Marathon in 2:41:50 h. The following year she won the Warsaw half marathon and was third in each of the Turin marathon in 2:40:14 h and in the Maratona d'Italia in 2:30:42 h (on a course that was not suitable for the best list).

In 2008 she was tenth in the Rome marathon in 2:38:03 h and in 2010 third in the Madrid marathon in 2:37:52 h.

She was Polish cross-country champion six times (1997, 1999–2001, 2004, 2007), four times over 5000 m (1997, 2000, 2001, 2005), twice over 3000 m obstacle (1999, 2004) and once each over 10,000 m ( 2000) and 1500 m (2001).
