Ayad Lamdassem ( Ayad Lamdassem El Mouhcin ; born October 11, 1981 in Sidi Ifni ) is a Spanish long-distance runner of Moroccan origin.

Life

In 2007 he received his Spanish citizenship and in the same year became national champion over 10,000 m .

The following year he came in 36th place at the World Cross Country Championships and 24th at the Olympic Games in Beijing over 10,000 m . He came fourth at the European Cross Country Championships .

In 2009 he finished 30th at the World Cross Country Championships in Amman . At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin , he did not reach the finish line over 10,000 m, and at the European Cross Country Championships he was fifth.

In 2010 a 51st place at the Cross Country World Championships in Bydgoszcz was followed by a second place at the Great Manchester Run and victory at the Ibero-American Championship over 5000 m . At the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona , he sat over 10,000 m five laps before the finish together with the eventual winner Mohammed Farah and went into the last lap as the leader, but had nothing to oppose the Brit's final sprint and finally fell into fourth place back.

Ayad Lamdassem is 1.72 m tall and weighs 52 kg. He lives in Lleida and is trained by Antonio Cánovas.
