The Riga Marathon (official name Lattelecom Riga Marathon ) is a marathon that has been taking place in the Latvian capital Riga since 1991 . The program also includes a half marathon and runs over 5 and 10 kilometers.

route

The course consists of two rounds. The start is at Riga Castle . After following the right bank of the Düna for one kilometer , turn into the Neustadt and return to the starting point past the National Theater and cross the Düna for a short turning point. Through the old town you come to a turning point stretch that leads upriver on the right bank of the Daugava. The second round begins with two loops through the Petersala and Skanste districts, before crossing the Düna again on the rope bridge, where this time the island of Ķīpsala is headed for. The last section leads again through the old town to the destination on the Daugava.

The half marathon is roughly the same as the first lap of the marathon.
