Philip Kipkurgat Manyim

Philip Kipkurgat Manyim (born March 24, 1978 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

Manyim worked as a pacemaker in 3000 m obstacle courses for a long time . His friend Moses Tanui persuaded him to switch to street running . In 2003 he won the South Tyrolean Spring Half Marathon in 1:01:15. In his second marathon he had another success when he finished second in 2:08:01 in the 2005 Rome Marathon . Things went even better for him at the Berlin Marathon of the same year, which he surprisingly won in 2:07:41.

In 2006 he was third in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon and in 2007 fourth in the Berlin Marathon.

Manyim comes from the Uasin Gishu district , is married with two children.
