South Tyrolean spring half marathon

The South Tyrolean Spring Half Marathon is a half marathon in Merano that has been taking place since 1994 and is organized by the Sport Club Merano . In terms of the number of participants, it is the largest running event in South Tyrol , but there are also elite runners at the start.

history

A spring marathon was held in Merano from 1984 to 1990 . The approval problems for the route associated with the construction of the MeBo led to the event being discontinued. The following athletes won this run (sources: ARRS, Runners.it ):

In the tradition of this event, a half marathon was launched four years later.

route

The start and finish of the route are on Freiheitsstraße in the city center of Merano. From there it goes first on a small round in the district of Gratsch and then on two large rounds that run over Algund and Gratsch.
