International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations
The International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) is an international professional association of air traffic controllers with a membership of 131 member associations representing around 50,000 air traffic controllers worldwide. The association is in Switzerland registered, but the office is located in Montreal ( Canada ). President and Chief Executive Officer is Patrik Peters (Germany, air traffic controller and security officer at Eurocontrol, Aviation Safety Agency), his representative is Scott Shallies (Australia, air traffic controller at Airservices Australia).
The aim of the association's work is to guarantee and improve flight safety , efficiency, regulations, support with air traffic control , improve the relevant infrastructure and systems as well as impart and exchange knowledge.
There are annual conferences with the members. The IFATCA publishes THE CONTROLLER Journal of Air Traffic Control every quarter . The IFATCA consists of four fixed commissions: Technical & Operations Committee , Finance Committee , Professional & Legal Committee and Constitution & Administration Committee .
