William Kiplagat at the 2006 Boston Marathon
William Kiplagat (born June 21, 1972 ) is a former Kenyan half marathon and marathon runner .
On his debut, he set his personal best in third place in the 1999 Amsterdam Marathon with 2:06:50 h. In 2000 he was fourth in the London marathon , third in the Prague and Berlin marathons in 2001 , and in 2003 he won the Rotterdam marathon in 2:07:42 h and was fourth in Amsterdam in 2:07:50 h.
In 2005 he won the JoongAng Seoul Marathon , and in 2007 he came second in the Biwa Lake Marathon .
At the World Athletics Championships in 2007 , he finished eighth.
He is an uncle of Florence Kiplagat , who is also a long-distance runner.
