Carla Beurskens (actually Carolina Alwina Hubertina Beurskens ; born February 15, 1952 in Tegelen ) is a former Dutch long-distance runner .

On the track , she set three Dutch records in the 5000 (last June 27, 1985 in Oslo with 15: 46.20) and three in the 10,000 meter run (last 32: 28.28 on July 27, 1985 in Oslo) . She has been the Dutch cross-country champion six times .

Her real strength, however, was in road running and so she set three national records over 10 km (last in 1987 with 32:34), two over 15 km (last in 1986 with 48:36, still valid), three in the half marathon (last in 1990 with 1:10:04, still valid), a currently valid 1:27:10 in the 25 km of Berlin in 1989 and four times in the marathon . Her best time of 2:26:34, achieved second in the Tokyo International Women's Marathon in 1987, was only exceeded in 2003 by Lornah Kiplagat at the New York City Marathon .

In 1981 she won her first marathon at the Dutch championship in Kijkduin . In 1984 and 1990 she won the Rotterdam Marathon and was third in 1994 and 1995. In 1985 she won the Frankfurt Marathon and in 1987 the Nagoya Marathon . She also won the Greifensee run in 1985 and the Bern Grand Prix in 1990 .

She won the Honolulu Marathon eight times from 1985 to 1994 . Apart from Grete Waitz with her nine victories in the New York City Marathon , no other runner has dominated one of the big city marathons as much.

She also landed well in front in the Osaka Women's Marathon (second place in 1982 and 1985), the Paris Marathon (second in 1984), the Chicago Marathon (fourth in 1985 and second in 1989), at the Boston Marathon (second in 1986), at the Berlin Marathon (third in 1990) and at the Amsterdam Marathon (second in 1993).

In 1997, at the age of 45, she won her last marathon at the Enschede Marathon in 2:37:20.
